At Paso, we sell a range of high strength CBD vape oil cartridges - Citrus Eclipse, Daybreak and Cosmic Berry. Each of these cartridges are just hemp extract blended with natural terpenes derived from some of our favourite cannabis strains for flavour.
There is still a fairly limited selection of CBD vape oil cartridges to pick from in the UK. CBD vape oil or purer extracts are much more popular in the US, over here most vape shops favour CBD e liquids which are much weaker (5-10%) as the hemp extract is diluted down by the PG / VG base mix. Having said that, we are beginning to see a shift as demand for high strength CBD cartridges increase with more people looking for healthier ways to vape CBD - that being, in purer extract form with no additional additives that some say can be potentially harmful to inhale.
As such, our high strength CBD vape oil cartridges are quite unique over here in the UK - they are one of the strongest available 65% CBD and they are also broad spectrum CBD meaning that they contain other minor cannabinoids including CBG for an even better effect (known as the entourage effect).
Our Daybreak cartridge is our take on the classic OG Kush strain. In this post, we will break down the OG Kush strain one of the most famous and popular strains in the cannabis market.
The OG Kush Strain:
- Hybrid Strain: OG Kush is deemed a hybrid, but little is known about its lineage. People think that it is a blend between parent plants Chemdawg and Hindu Kush
- Indica Dominant: Interestingly, the effects of this strain are very balanced meaning it is as strong mentally as it is physically. Whilst the effects are more sativa like, the genetic makeup of the strain is slightly more indica. (A reminder: you can simplify it down to Sativa = mind, Indica = body. Most strains these days are a hybrid meaning they are a cross between the two which is why we so often see the term dominant meaning that the hybrid is more of one than the other)
- Great for day or early evening: OG Kush is said to be mildly uplifting and energetic making it a good strain for earlier in the evening or during the day
- Helps with depression and pain: due to the hybrid mix this strain gives a nice balance between the head and body
Again, as with our Super Lemon Haze, the OG Kush strain will have different connotations when in states where recreational cannabis use is legal and it will contain THC (the psychoactive compound that makes you high). OG Kush is known for its high potency of THC content when derived from marijuana. This means that when a strain is labelled OG Kush in the US it will helpfully indicate the type of high you will get, the “high” being from the THC which you won’t get when it is CBD dominant and derived from hemp as is the case in the UK!
So the OG Kush strain is used quite a bit to assist with medical conditions in particular chronic pain and a number of mental disorders like depression and anxiety. This is due to its effects described as “a wonderful amalgamation of body-melting euphoria and a calm, tranquil state of mind”
Again, in the UK, cannabis products cannot contain more than 0.2% THC and have to be derived from hemp plants not marijuana so this feature of the OG Kush does not translate. However, the terpenes used still exude a similar uplifting calm that makes it perfect for daytime or to wind down after work in the early evening.
An OG Kush oil cartridge in the UK, or any other CBD vape oil, whilst not potent in terms of THC content is what you will want to get if you are looking for a high strength CBD cartridge. This is because, as mentioned above, CBD oil cartridges are not diluted down by any other liquid such as PG and VG making them a high concentration, more pure option.
